Dr. Claudio R. Lima [Sprint Advanced Technologies Laboratory]

Claudio Lima is with Sprint Advanced Technology Labs (ATL)/Technology Research & Development (TR&D), Burlingame, California (USA). His group is responsible for Sprint's Next Generation Optical Networking technology development including next generation optical network technical specifications, emerging technology recommendations and new services and network architectures validation (proof-of-concept). He holds a Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering from University of Kent, at Canterbury, United Kingdom, a M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering. Dr. Lima has more than 17 years of experience in the telecom industry as chief network architect for cable and broadband access network/service, long distance fiber optic network operation, and carrier's professional service companies.He has over 40 publications worldwide in the field, including invited papers,tutorials, workshops, and scientific journal papers. He is a member of IEEE Communications Society and a member of the Technical Program Advisory Committee of NFOEC/OFC 2005.
