Dr. Ian M. White [Sprint Advanced Technologies Laboratory]

Ian White is a Member of Technical Staff at Sprint's Advanced Technology Laboratories in Burlingame, CA. At Sprint he has led projects in many different areas of photonic networking, including next generation data trasnport, Resilient Packet Ring, Raman amplification, photonics integration, advanced modulation formats, passive optical networks, and all-optical renegeration. Dr. White received his B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Missouri Columbia in 1997. He received his M.S. in 2000 and his Ph.D. in 2002 from Stanford University, both in electrical engineering. At Stanford Dr. White led a project that developed advanced technologies and protocols for optical metro networks under the umbrella of the DARPA Next Generation Internet Initiative.
