Prof. Sokratis K. Katsikas
Sokratis K. Katsikas was born in Athens, Greece, in 1960. He received the Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the University of Patras, Patras, Greece in 1982, the Master of Science in Electrical & Computer Engineering degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Amherst, USA, in 1984 and the Ph.D. in Computer Engineering & Informatics from the University of Patras, Patras, Greece in 1987. Currently he is a Professor with the Dept. of Technology Education and Digital Systems of the University of Piraeus, Greece and a member of the Board of the Hellenic Authority for Information and Communication Security and Privacy. From 1990 to 2007 he was with the University of the Aegean, Greece, where he served as Rector, Vice-rector, Department head, Professor of the Department of Information & Communication Systems Engineering and Director of the Information & Communication Systems Security Lab. His research interests lie in the areas of information and communication systems security and of estimation theory and its applications. He has authored or co-authored more than 150 journal publications, book chapters and conference proceedings publications in these areas. He is serving on the editorial board of several scientific journals, he has authored/edited 20 books and has served on/chaired the technical programme committee of numerous international conferences.

Prof. Panayiotis Tsanakas
Belongs to the Computer Systems Laboratory of the National Technical University of Athens. His research interests include distributed systems, cloud computing platforms, and advanced medical information systems. He is currently the Chairman of GRNET the Greek Research and Education Network. Has directed several large-scale projects aiming at both the deployment of advanced network and computing infrastructures, and the development/provision of sophisticated web-based services to the academic community. He has published several research papers and served as evaluator of national
and EU-funded RTD projects.

Prof. Vasilis Maglaris
Vasilis Maglaris is Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) since 1989. He holds an Engineering Degree from NTUA (1974) and a Ph.D. degree from Columbia University, New York (1979).
He was responsible for developing the NTUA LAN and for establishing GRNET, the Greek National Research & Education Network - NREN. Since October 2004 he is chairing the NREN Policy Committee, the Governance body of the Pan-European advanced network GÉANT.
He authored more than 100 research papers, regularly delivers lectures on Internet advances and supervised 15 Doctoral Theses in the USA and Greece
Mr. Dimitrios Mitsainas
Holds a BEng on Computer Engineering and Informatics
from the University of Patras and a Master's degree in Management of Business
Innovation & Technology from Athens Information Technology. He joined INTRACOM
in 1993 at the VLSI group and since then has held several leading positions such
as Team Leader for SDH development and Product Development Manager for xDSL/MSAN
products. From 2005 to 2006 he served as Wireline Section Manager and since 2006
as Broadband Systems Department Manager leading the development of wireline and
wireless systems. In September 2010, he joined the Marketing Dept. of the
Services Business Division..
