Prof. Kishore S. Trivedi
Kishor S. Trivedi holds the Hudson Chair in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Duke University, Durham, NC. He has been on the Duke faculty since 1975. He is the author of a well known text entitled, Probability and Statistics with Reliability, Queuing and Computer Science Applications, published by Prentice-Hall; a thoroughly revised second edition (including its Indian edition) of this book has been published by John Wiley. He has also published two other
books entitled, Performance and Reliability Analysis of Computer Systems, published by Kluwer Academic Publishers and Queueing Networks and Markov Chains, John Wiley. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He is a Golden Core Member of IEEE Computer Society. He has published over 350 articles and has supervised 39 Ph.D. dissertations. He is on the editorial boards of IEEE Transactions on dependable and secure computing, Journal of risk and reliability, international journal of performability engineering and international journal of quality and safety engineering.
Grid Computing as a Technology Incubator
Wayne Clark is currently an architect within the CTO office of the Network Management Technology Group at Cisco Systems. In his current role at Cisco, he is focusing on the next generation network management infrastructure, autonomic computing, and intelligent networking.
Prior to his work in network management, he was the founding engineer of the Interworks Business Unit at Cisco which focused on the transformation of traditional IBM corporate enterprise networks into IP-based internetworks. He served as Cisco's SNA Architect from 1991 thru 1998 and was one of the leading advocates within Cisco for establishing its east coast headquarters in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.
Prior to Cisco, he held similar positions at 3Com Corporation, Novell, Ungermann-Bass, and Memorex. He has a B.S. in Computer Science from Ohio State University and a M.S. in Computer Engineering from Santa Clara University.
